Caputo’s: Fine Pickle Purveyors

“HELLO MY NAME IS KRISTINA AND I LOVE ALL THE PICKLED THINGS.”

“Hi Kristina”

Caputos1-1

Look, I’m not sorry. The minute the snow melts all I want on this earth is vinegar in all its forms. Salad dressings. Bread dipped in vinegar and oil. Sipping vinegar with seltzer. And of course, pickled things.

ALL of the pickled things. If there is a better way to improve a vegetable I haven’t found it.

Feel the (328) Bern (Way)

(Hey, these are the jokes.)

I have an out-of-town client that needed a video walk-through of a house with a recent price to really get a good feel for the floorplan and views. So, off to Midway we go!

Here’s the quick and glaringly amateur video of 328 Bern Way in Interlaken Estates, a new construction home, 4 bd, 4 bath, approx. 3,000 sq ft, including 25 seconds of clumsy non-dash cam footage of said mountain road:

“How to be a Power Connector”

As part of my continuing series, “Tips to Help Your #Hustle,” here is another quick tip to help dominate in your working life. The sooner you conquer your career the sooner you can be free to start living the life you’ve worked so hard for. For me, that life happens up high in the mountains of Park City, Utah.

PowerConnectorThanks to Audible.com, I finished a book club book! I’ve been listening to podcasts in the car (Stanford’s Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders series is a great one) but my broker recommended Audible a few weeks ago and pointed out that it was a great way to keep from showing up numb because all you’ve done the whole drive is listen to SiriusXm’s 80s on 8. Which is exactly how I feel after a commute: numb and bored (no offense, 1980s, I can’t wait until I’m old enough to feel ways about things.) Sometimes I’m in the mood for music, but usually I’m in the mood to put my mind on something.

How to be a Power Connector was a good book to knock out on a commute. Most of the information is all tips and tricks you know already, but here’s the thing: if you spend 30 minutes listening to somebody tell you how critical their network is, you darn well better believe you show up to your office and start working your SOI. So get thee to Audible.com, there are lots of promo codes to give you one or three months free (which translates into 1 free book per month), and give it a shot.

Happy Monday! Knock ’em dead!

Hello I Log You: Timber Wolf Lodges 11D

I like log construction you guys. The green metal roofs, the orange posts, the playing on the carpet with Lincoln Logs nostalgia. Not sorry. And it seems like it’s been a while since I waxed poetic about it, and this super cute Timber Wolf Lodge unit came on the market recently, so, two birds with one stone.

These condos are at the Canyons, are just a short walk to skiing, and have attached garages! This one is at 3987 N Timber Wolf Lane, unit 11D, Park City, UT 84060. Click here for listing information.

Development Update: Goldener Hirsch Expansion

Big news: the Goldener Hirsch in upper Deer Valley is expanding, building out the last parcel in Silver Lake. Summit Sotheby’s International Realty will be the listing broker for the development, but the project is so early in the planning stages that there are very few official details to share. However, this is exciting enough to warrant a little recon. Sign up for news on this project as it is released.

Here is the full planning commission packet (.pdf) regarding the initial expansion concepts.

The parking lot at Silver Lake below (to the east of) Stein Eriksen Lodge and the empty lot next to it will be the new project. In the renderings you can see the existing road, Sterling Court, (that goes to the Inn at Silver Lake and the underground parking at Mont Cervin Plaza) will go through the project, with the original Goldener to the east and the new buildings to the west of the road. “Miss a meal, but don’t miss your reading”

As part of my continuing series, “Tips to Help Your #Hustle,” here is another quick tip to help dominate in your working life. The sooner you conquer your career the sooner you can be free to start living the life you’ve worked so hard for. For me, that life happens up high in the mountains of Park City, Utah.

My Tip to Help Your #Hustle today is:

Read for 30 minutes a day.

Okay I know this sounds trite. But our world consists of instant email notifications and Twitter; constant short bursts that need immediate and surface attention. How long has it been since you’ve actually sat down and read a real book…for longer than 10 minutes?

I committed to myself that I would read for 30 minutes per day. I try to do it in the morning with breakfast and I set a timer. If I have to go back and read the same passage three or four times because I got distracted then so be it. If I’m antsy and want to get on with my day, too bad. Thirty minutes. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am not always successful with this quest. However, we soldier on.

Readfor30minutes-1

The book I’m working on is the Tony Robbins classic, Awaken the Giant Within, and I do mean classic; it’s the original printing with 1990s hair and all. But something fantastic has happened since I started: I’m focusing. Don’t laugh; when you’re expected to be instantly available 16 hours a day and you’re submerged in social media culture, focusing on something for longer than 140 characters is a big, familiar, calming deal. And lo and behold, in my book Tony quotes his teacher, Jim Rohn, about reading daily: “He said, ‘Miss a meal, but don’t miss your reading.'” Sure enough, when I am feeling scattered, flitting about from project to project but not really connecting with anything, not accessing that Kristina brand of magic, sitting down and focusing on the words on the page is like pressing the reset button. When I’m finished, I’m clear, focused, and ready to rumble.

Bonus tip: Download Audible. Listen to an audio book on your phone to keep you focused while you commute. Right now my car book is How to be a Power Connector, by Judy Robinett.

100 Daly Ave: SOLD!

Congratulations to my clients, the former owners of this large lot in Old Town. 100 Daly Ave, .07 acres, sold the day it hit the market for $525,000.

Old Town is a very exciting place, the heart of the city, and being the historic district full of opportunities and obligations to honor and preserve our town’s heritage. As properties are offered up for sale, it’s another chance for a new Park City enthusiast to come in and embody their appreciation for our beautiful mountain town.

Gettin’ a little emotional here you guys.

Coming to Market: 2-bd Town Lift

Very exciting news, people. There hasn’t been a Town Lift condo to hit the market in ages; the last one sold in December 2014. A beautiful, never-rented 2-bd is coming to market soon, and because of my spectacularrrr network, I was one of the first to know and by extension, now you know too.

It’s a top-floor, 2-bedroom condo, nicely remodeled, facing the quiet Park Ave side over Davanza’s Pizza with fantastic views of the ski slopes and Town Lift. Oh, and it comes with T W O ASSIGNED underground parking spaces. The joke here is that you’re buying Main Street parking and ski storage and you get a bonus condo with it. Town Lift at Park City Resort is just one building over, or you can walk through the connected underground garage. When it hits the open market it will likely be priced somewhere around $950,000-1,000,000. Let me know if you’d like to talk more about it or if you’d like to go see it.

Town Lift condos are at 693 Main St, Park City, UT 84060, and here is a map to show you just how close they are to Park City Resort’s Town Lift (*really* close).
